I have a 1999 e39 528.
02 bmw x5 outside door handle won t open.
I tried removing the interior handle and manually pulling on the cable however that didn t.
Took door panel off looks like the cable has slack in it so that when the handle is pulled the latch is not engaged enough to open door.
Driver outside door handle will not open door.
Was hoping this would be the zip tie fix but i don t.
The central locking was making a nose but wasn t unlocking.

The handle seems to be raised about an 1 8th inch compared to other door handles.
Note that you may wish to order a few new inner door trim panel securing clips.
About a week ago my front passenger side door would not open from either the inside hande or the outside lock.

I have gained access to the inside of the door and i can make the lock release by manually pushing up on the cabel arm ball end of the cable.
I went through passenger side and unlocked the driver side by pulling the handle.
Exterior door handel is slightly cocked outward.
I can open from the interior latch.
Then bmw said it would cost me 400 to get the door open and change the whole lock.
Froze up in ice storm and appeared to break when tried to open door.
Sure this has happened to a lot of you if you have owned a bmw for a long time when one of you doors doesn t open up well here s a picture of a door carrier they are just about all the same through out the years this on comes off a x5 2002 this one was the left rear door this one was lucky i was able to remove the door panel with the door closed.
I can hear the electronic locking mechanism working inside the door but the door won t open.

2001 bmw x5 unlocked driver door wont open from inside or outside the lock wouldn t pop up when i tried using the key fob but the other doors did unlock.
All other doors work fine.
It is very common that some of the clips will break or already be broken from a prior door panel removal.
